Does anyone know a recipe for a single pour parrifin candle wax for containers?

I just recently starter pouring my own candles, and am having trouble with the recipe that I was given when I purchased my set-up. The lady promised me this was single pour, but I’m getting holes in the center and it’s sinking. I’m almost embarrassed to tell folks I poured these candles myself…HELP!

I am heating the jars before I pour into them; pouring the wax at 190 degrees, allowing them to cool at room temperature, am I doing somthing wrong?

The recipe that she gave me was this….
5 oz parrifin
5 oz vegetable oil
3 oz petroleum jelly
2 oz mineral oil
1 oz fragrance

to make 16 oz candle or 2-8oz candles

Check for ‘candle making supplies’ on-line.
There are several dealers listed on-line.
So called ‘single-pour’ waxes are available from these suppliers.

NOTE: ALL wax will shrink some as it cools. You should buy a book on candle making and study up on it.

I use parrifin for other uses than candles and find that it shrinks MUCH more than proper candle wax!!

as the wax cools it shrinks. Always!! Almost everyone has to "fix" these problems.

Wax cools from the outside in. It might not shrink as much if it is in hot water bath? I had this problem in the past. Didn’t let it bother me. Just topped up the sunken place with a bit more wax mixture.
